The mini-bus from Huanchaco to Trujillo, Peru By John Rabe of MacroFindDotCom Taking the mini-bus taxis from Huanchaco to Trujillo in Peru is a wonderful way to get closer to the real Peru. In front will be two huge speakers blaring out Salsa music, while it is not at all impossible that at the back will be a live band competing for the passengers' attention. The gear lever is to the right behind the driver, so every time he changes gears he has to lean back and pull the level towards him. This while his attention is already divided between the road and his girlfriend in the seat next to him. The only rule of the road is that there are no rules. It's survival of the fittest all the way. Yet there seems to be a strange underlying understanding between the drivers sharing the road, a sort of functioning anarchy.
